In the early ’90s, somewhere in Europe, fate had it that a creative specialist had an idea: “how good it would be if a screw could be driven into concrete as easily as into wood! If you did not have to use a wall plug, just pre-drill and simply drive the screw into the concrete!”
The wish then became reality. Today the use of concrete screws is widespread in the construction industry. There is nothing to be surprised at in this, since using a concrete screw is dead simple. The key to success is pre-drilling with the right diameter, and the concrete screw cuts a thread into the concrete as it is driven in. Unlike a wood screw, the concrete screw does not completely fill the hole. A gap remains between the screw shank and the wall of the hole, and in fact the screw is held in the concrete only by its thread. If we made a hole equal to the core diameter of the screw, the screw would bind and driving it in would be impossible.
A hole a shade larger than the core diameter, the optimal thread geometry and the incredibly hard carbide tip guarantee the low driving torque.
Driving can be done with a hand tool or an impact driver. Machine driving does not take longer than 2-3 seconds. Using a concrete screw is a cost-effective solution, since it can be installed directly and thus halves the installation time. Unlike wall plugs, the concrete screw provides a releasable joint.

The NONOX A4 acid-resistant concrete screw made of austenitic steel can also be used outdoors; there is no need to fear ageing or oxidation. A galvanised concrete screw, by contrast, can mostly be used indoors, in a dry environment free of chemical effects, because with galvanised concrete screws sudden brittle fracture caused by stress corrosion cannot be ruled out. Carbide-tipped NONOX acid-resistant concrete screws are also available in hex-head, countersunk-head and stud versions.”
The hex-head version provides easy installation and good seating thanks to the washer-faced head;
The countersunk-head version forms a single plane with the installed surface, so besides its head not being in the way, it is also more attractive. It is available with hex and TORX socket drive as well;
On the protruding metric thread of the stud version we can fix anything with an M12 nut, so that the fixed object can be removed and refitted at any time later.
NONOX acid-resistant concrete screws hold an ETA-06/0125 certificate and have fire protection tests.
