Bi-metal*, self-drilling, NONOX self-tapping screws

NONOX stainless and acid-resistant bi-metal self-drilling screws are ideal for mounting steel or aluminium profiles and sandwich panels onto steel or aluminium structures. The bi-metal self-drilling screws have an A2 stainless steel body and a hardened steel drill point.

With these screws you can assemble without pre-drilling, so the time needed can be reduced significantly.

Typical properties:

  • The NONOX bi-metal self-drilling screws have an A2 stainless body and a hardened steel drill point. The hardened carbon steel point and the stainless steel body are joined by friction welding: the parts to be joined are pressed together and rotated in opposite directions, and the friction melts the materials so that they flow into one another. The bond formed between the different materials this way is perfectly strong and durable. (Among other things, rock drills and cardan shafts are made by this same process.)
  • Hexagon head for optimal torque transfer;
  • The screw heads are flanged, to aid sealing as well;
  • The stainless conical spring washer, with its vulcanised EPDM seal, provides a watertight connection — that is, it seals;
  • The sealing washer is “captive”;
  • A protective coating that eases driving and at the same time prevents corrosion of the hardened steel point…

The table gives the most important parameters of the bi-metal, self-drilling, NONOX self-tapping screws.

(Warning: the values required by the building authority must be observed!)

Advantages:

– Drills, cuts the thread and fastens in one step.
– Cost reduction: no pre-drilling, therefore no tool costs and lower operating costs.
– Increased service life thanks to the A2, A4 material grade.
