Here are 3 multifunctional wood screws

Even today many people think that all wood screws are the same, and that they differ from one another at most in their head design and their size. That used to be the case, but by now we have moved a long way from it. I cannot say exactly how many kinds of wood screw developed for special tasks exist, but manufacturers are constantly launching new developments.

Why might all this matter to you?

Because with a special screw developed for the given job you can work much faster, more precisely, more neatly and more easily. These screws really do go into wood like a knife through butter, they pull it together, yet they do not split the wood, and you do not even have to bother with countersinking.

What makes a special wood screw different?

In the different areas of the woodworking industry, users’ work can be made easier with various extra functions. For example, pre-drilling and countersinking can be replaced by self-drilling or even self-countersinking solutions. Driving can be made easier with a special thread geometry and/or coating. When a Torx drive is used, the torque can be transferred more easily from the tool to the screw head, which eliminates the screwdriver jumping out and the damaging of the drive.

Let us look at the first 3 examples!
